help
Ok, i was just sitting on the couch and i laid my head back and stared up at the ceiling. I then happened to see a tiny spider crawling on the ceiling directly up from my face. So i grabbed the flyswatter (excellent bug weapon) and stood up on the couch to get it. I swatted, totally missed, and the spider flew out toward me. AUUUGGHH! i swatted at myself like a monkey but i know it's useless. that thing was so small. I have no idea where it went. I don't think it was high enough up to land in my hair but i brushed it crazily anyway. but it could have fallen onthe couch where i sit. It could still be in my clothes... i don't know!!! it would have been better had it fallen in my mouth and i swallowed it because at least i'd know what happened to it, but i don't. and i can't stand it. This was a yucky close encounter with a spider, similar to the time i was sitting at my desk here and a big gross spider slinked down from the ceiling RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE. I mean, we're talking 3 inches away from my eyeballs. Gaaaak.

Thank you for saying "swatted at myself like a monkey." My day is now complete.
I too would like to express my appreciation for the "swatted at myself like a monkey" comment. I'm not sure what would be better, witnessing it in person, or just keeping the thought locked away for my bad days. I think I just decided, next time I see you, I'm bringin spiders.
Wow! I would die. I haven't seen a bug in my house since september. Hopefully it will keep up when the weather gets warm.
ha. well, you're welcome, guys. glad i could provide. and yeah, the live version is sure not to disappoint. i know it was a spectacle.
good luck with that, mich. they'll be coming. oh yes. they will.
Oh my gosh!! This one time, I turned the corner in my apartment and saw a quarter-sized spider just sitting there, pretending to be invisable. As I came closer to it to cover it with a cup, I noticed a sack of eggs she was carrying. I quickly woke my husband and told him to take care of it. I don't know why he didn't flush it like I always do, but it ended up in the bathtub with Jeff trying to smash it with a shoe. He missed and it made it's way down the drain. The picture in my head was of this mama spider hanging on for dear life (in the drain)trying to save her babies. I pushed Jeff out of my way and took care of the rest myself, spraying every household cleaner I could get my hands on and running the water for about 5 minutes. Did I go overboard? Those of us that have had these close encounters know that you can NEVER do too much to ensure our safety.
Sorry for the long entry.
Ewwww! An egg saaack?? No, you id NOT go overboard. you definitely have to take all necessary precautions. ewww.. so gross. i think i would just have to move to a new apartment if i saw that.
