Jen's Grocery Cart

Today I went to the grocery store. Would you like to see what I bought? Here are the things that went inside Jen's cart.

First, here's the essential cart itself. Call me an old lady if you must, but this thing rocks! The urban grocery shopper's must-have.

First items, my frozen fruit and fruity sherbet. I just felt in the mood, don't you? Summer is here at last.

Next: breakfast! i truly believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I can't stress it enough. I love frosted squares. Add eggo waffles and a yogurt too, all a nutritious part of a balanced breakfast. (I like all of the brand name dropping i'm doing here.)

Zatarain's. Jaaaambalaya mix! I love this stuff. Go to the store and get some today. Also comes in creole chicken, black beans & rice, and red beans & rice, etc.

I ran out of the wet swiffer the other day. Also, I know this can of clorox wipes, aka Gigantor is huge, but it was a good deal. plus when i use them, i use a billion.

Some meat 'n eggs. Tip: love the turkey sausage. Add it to the zatarains to make a meal. I'm kind of a fool for not getting more eggs. You'd be amazed (I just typed 'amazing.' lame) at how fast we go through them.

Ah, stuff for some super scrumptious summer salads. I think I just died a little bit inside for saying "scrumptious." all in the name of alliteration. (sidenote: i do not put bananas in leafy salads. just wanted to make that clear)

These caught my eye after i got the frozen fruit. My sister Ashley used to make fuzzy navel daquiris all the time and i loooved them. Here's to you, ash.

To go along with that, pineapples! 2 for $5. Score! You can tell how happy that makes me. I think it's fun to set a pineapple on the counter and wait until the pineappley scent wafts through the house to tell you it's ripe for the slicin'. Take care when you slice a pineapple, and don't be afraid to eat the pineapple bone.

Yeah, I don't know either, Rob. I'm not sure what possessed me to do post on this. I asked Sean if it was the lamest thing ever and he said, no way! i always want to know what people buy at the store. So maybe there's something to something seemingly dumb and simple like this.

Very well could be, Brooke. Looks like i'm getting a little tipsy from those pineapples.

Jen, I just noticed that the first pics on both of our blogs are of wheeled things next to our front doors. Creepy.

I did enjoy this post, but I would like to comment on the fact that the brand of sherbet you bought was Turkey Hill. That sounds kind of sick in regards to ice cream... "Ice cream made fresh with Turkey Hill turkey manure. Grab a gallon today." Okay, maybe the ad was lame, but I just thought I'd point that out.

Ha. Yes, welcome to Ye Olde Turkey Hill, our turkey farm where we make our own ice cream too! Enjoy a scoop of your favorite flavors mixed with our special seasonings and turkey fat.

Enjoy pushing that cart around while you still can. It's amazing how much more food/stuff you buy when you have kids. First of all, I would need to 'bungy' 5 of those carts together to get everything home in one trip.....and second, I would have to attatch the carts somehow around my waist and drag them behind me because I would be pushing a double stroller with my ever so strong arms. Aahhh motherhood. Thank goodness for minivans. (Even though I swore I would NEVER own one.)
