... that commercial for Jif peanut butter when they have a bed of peanuts on a slice of bread and then a knife comes and "smooths" it out all, turning the peanuts into peanut butter? For some reason, I loved that then and i love it now and wish i could really do that.

It sounds kind of scary the way you say it. A bed of peanuts and a knife comes and smooths it. Sounds violent. Maybe that's just me.
I remember a local store where you could grind your own peanut butter. You just stuck a container underneath the spout and pushed the button, and it would come out like a slushee, except thicker and kind of gross-looking.
I remember! Perhaps I have that commercial to thank for my firm stand on buying JIF peanut butter. It's the best...and Jen...it was magic.
Ahah! Yes, the magic of childhood.
Rach, hello! maybe it sounds a little violent, but then, it is peanut butter.
Joel, are you serious? that sounds foul. and, was this in some kind of fundamentalist community? it sounds weird and like something they'd do in the old days. :)
Amy- i agree. the commercial sold me, and i am 100% only Jif.
Michelle--hi. i have nothing to say about your comment but didn't want to leave you out.
It was at Fred Meyer, if you've ever heard of that store. The peanut butter actually tasted very fresh and good. It just looked a little questionable as it was dispensed...
