I have returned. Here are some pictures from my crazy and crazy fun week. I loved being Camp Dictator i mean Director and used and abused my megaphone at all times. (p.s. I heart the trumpet)
We had a spa day (I just typed "spay" --NO, very wrong.) It was awesome. The theme was "service" that day and you had to have someone else do your nails.
Sean was our craft expert at camp. He did everything, and I mean everything. Here he is teaching the girls how to fold paper stars.
We made luminaries out of tin cans.
Maybe you can see what they looked like. But maybe not. It was dark. They were little lanterns and they were super fun.
Sean also headed up the service project which was creating a beautiful flower bed.
These are the girls that lasted until the end. High fives to them.
And here we all are. Please notice my cheerleader pose.
That's right!
And my most recent "greasy camp" picture. Dirty? Check. Look like a boy? Check. Success.

Lookin' good. How'd the tents and other camp gear work out? I liked your story about people in NY not understanding camp lingo.
I love this post so much. And I love that at the FIRST chance, you whip out your bandanna and slap it on your head. Very nice. Your cheerleader pose is a good one too, and i can tell that you and the bullhorn became very close friends. (I would put a smiley face here if you were not racist against them)
You are free to use smiley faces as you will. A friendly smiley is a good addition to a friendly comment and, i think, adds to it. It's when I feel i have to use a smiley as a safety net when i'm being sarcastic that I have a problem.
Yes, the essential camp bandana. I had 3 of them. Our camp was a luxury camp in that it had a huge bathroom full of showers and all the girls would shower and primp. NOT I. No shower, not once. That's right. I stand up for what I believe in, and I believe in no showering at camp.
I suppose I have mixed feeling about the not showering thing. I mean, I went without showering at scout camp, but I obviously wasn't married (and as a kid you tend to be less smelly than an adult). So I guess as long as Sean supported your shower-free week, it's all good.
But see, you're also a boy. And boys are smelly. This is not meant to be an insult but it's just true, right? I didn't sweat a whole lot at camp and reapplied deoderant daily so i smelled lovely.
Okay, everyone. Admit it, you wouldn't shower if you didn't have to! I personally found it quite hilarious that none of the leaders (except for maybe Abby) showered. And believe me, Jen, in order to fill the "Camp Director" shoes, you've got to play the no-shower-wear-a-bandana-to-hide-the-grime part.
That is so cool, I bet you were the best camp dictator ever! I'm jealous that you got to use a megaphone, too - how sweet!
See, we leaders need to set the example for the young ones: No showering at camp. It's a tough lesson to learn (I guess) but it's essential in maximizing the camp experience. I am among those who loathe showering. I generally like being clean but at camp i fully embrace the dirty.
(the megaphone was super sweet)
Um, does your shirt in that last pic mean 'I love girls camp'? 'cause that's awesome.
Yes, yes it does. And yes, yes it is.
Jen, you would be, and are, the best camp director I can imagine.
aww! thanks man!
Wow! That looks amazing! Good job Morellos!
