reflection

You know, for the most part, I go about my day, living my life, doing the things I do. But every once in a while there will be a moment. Like tonight. I ate some chocolate cookies and then later I started getting ready for bed. And it was when I looked up in the mirror and realized I was brushing my teeth with melted chocolate all over my mouth that i thought, yeah... I'm proud to be me.

I got home from work the other night and headed upstairs to change while talking to my roommate. My end of the conversation went as follows.

"Yeah, it was the most bizarre thing she could have done and that left me standing there with these . . . uh . . . yeah . . . how long have my pants been unbuttoned? No, seriously, I haven't gone to the bathroom in like six hours. Have they been like this for six hours?"

Super.

My husband's favorite thing to do is to rest his chin on my head, thereby pulling out maybe fifteen hairs from the ponytail in which they always reside and making them stick straight up. Then he leaves and never tells me how utterly ridiculous I look. It's great. I wonder how many people I've frightened by this?

Ha ha. Those are great.

I hope other people comment with their own "moments."

I feel like that every Sunday. After an hour of wrestling my own kids in Sacrament meeting, and then working Nursery for the 18 month to 2 year olds...well...lets just say, I might as well wear sweats to church.

That is funny. My sister-in-law licked the beaters after making brownies, then had a conversation with her postman, and then looked in the mirror and saw brownie all over her face. Every time I think about that it makes me laugh so hard I cry.

A few years ago I had just moved to Lindon and had just finished a workout at the gym when someone from my new ward walked in and said "hi" really sincerely. I must've been emotionally unstable because, hardly knowing her, I reached out and gave her this big hug like I hadn't seen her in 10 years and my mom had just died. It wasn't until after the hug that I realized I was still sweaty and stank.

I think I've only hugged that lady one other time, but she gave me "special" attention for a little while after that until she realized I was normal, for the most part.

I must have been thinking hard to come up with a "moment" after I read this post yesterday. Last night I dreamed that I was going to the hospital with you and Sean for your offspring's birth. We hopped on a subway and there was a drinking fountain on the back of the car, which Sean used to wash his hands for some reason.

Does that count?

Ha! Sure it does. Drinking fountain on the train-grooossss. Sean using it to wash his hands-- totally makes sense. Funny stuff.

Britta & Lindsey-- both stories made me laugh right out loud. Who doesn't need a hug every now and then, even a sweaty hug. From acquaintances.

Nursery--ahh, my nightmare calling.
