I actually took a picture of the information card for the kangaroos at the STL zoo just because of their crazy mothering capacity!
"Kangaroos usually have one young annually. The joey remains in the pouch for nine months and continues to suckle until twelve to seventeen months of age. Kangaroos can have 3 babies at one time. One becoming mature and just out of the pouch, another developing in the pouch and one embryo in pause mode. There are 4 teats in the pouch and each provides different milk for the different stages of development."
Yeah, only a nursing mother would care about such info...
This is why aussies have "roo bars" on the front of their cars. Theyre all over the place outside of the cities. Theyre Pests, not the loveable iconic creatures we make them out to be. And if they hop in front of your car at 100 kph you understand why your car has roo bars.
I realize now that was only somewhat related and mostly morbid...im leaving it.
