Jen, drunk & delirious (in a bad way) from folding 3 tons of laundry:  Are you done?

Sean, who had been helping here and there, and also making soup:  With the soup?

Jen: No, with helping me.

Sean: Oh... *making soup.*

Jen, speech slurred: Oh well... it sure was fun when it lasted...

Sean: *making soup*

Jen: when...  .....

Sean: *making soup*

Jen: ....  

Jen: while. While it lasted...

Sean: What did you say? When?

Jen, laughing: yeah

Sean, thoughtful: That's interesting... "when."  Like it's one specific period of time.

Jen: *laughing, drunkenly.*

Sean, still thoughtful: It's like a puzzle!  When it lasted.  Remember that time? back when it lasted?
