Apparently, a few nights ago, this is what I said to Sean in the middle of the night. I like it. Yes... perfect. It's not the first time I've said something so deeply poignant and thought-provoking in my sleep, but that's a story for another day.
This summer was the first summer off of something that i have experienced since Julian's birth. You know, first transition summer, going from doing pre-planned, structured things, to a structureless, goal-less life. Me, I'm not a big planner. I have goals, sure, but I generally don't look too far ahead, opting for a more live-in-the-moment approach. I don't plan out my weeks with set days for set things, though sometimes I wouldn't mind that. I'm not a super mega-organizer, but I do like to have some structure so I don't go completely batty. I don't do pinterest, I'm not a craft mom and Julian's not a craft boy. So what do we do? Well, one day we get a bagel and chocolate milk and we discuss what we love about summer and then we make a list, for I am a lister. It happened easily, organically, and turned out to make for a very busy and eventful summer.
Behold, the List of Summer.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be spending the rest of my life recapping my summer in a million separate blog posts when everyone else out there is offering up a solid healthy single one but whatever. It gives one purpose. We'll just call it Summer: A Series which sounds better, literarily. So let's do it! I'm in. Stay tuned.
