The Julian quotes these days are just as good as ever, just as Julian-esque, with a nice teenager twist. For example, I received these two in pretty quick succession. I feel they are a good reflection of the in-flux mind of an egregiously self-focused teenager combined with the rare glimpse of growth and glimmer of maturity that you don't know what to do with but just remain silent while your mind goes wild. This description is pretty clunky but I'm too lazy to fix it. Let's just call it a good pairing of quotes, a nice juxtaposition.
The first:
"I have integrity issues-- not because I don't have enough of it but because I have too much. I'm just too much of a good person, you know?"
ha ha ha. I am now re-laughing at this. It's just so good. Because it was said sincerely and I'm picturing myself or anyone responding to it. "yeah... totally..." There are actually deeper implications here of which I am well aware, but still, taken at face value, it's a quality adolescent quote, don't you think?
The second:
"I realized I don't need the best thing ever. Just something decently good. And I now appreciate that."
Mom response: internal WTF and a hope-burst of the heart. "Yeah.. cool! Good for you."

Reminds me of my favorite quote (which I have yet to use on anyone, but it's locked and loaded just in case): "Don't be humble. You're not that great!"
Teenagers are a hoot.
Ha! Love it. Also- Alanna, you’re the best. Thx for being here. ❤️
